HIP HOP NEEDS MORE ARTIST LIKE THIS!
D.J. Brewer (aka Jack Wilson) began performing original poetry near the turn of the 21st Century and was on Pittsburgh's 2000-2003 National Poetry Slam teams. He began making hip-hop in 2003 and has released 3 EPs and a mixtape to local acclaim, but hasn't toured outside of Pittsburgh... yet.
A dedicated, life-long participant in hip-hop culture (since 1985), Jack's approach to songwriting focuses primarily on lyrical content and ryhme structure, from the perspective of a true modern poet. He is not interested in fitting into a pre-defined notion of what "hip-hop" is supposed to sound like, rather his goal is to make NEW, original music that stretches the boundaries of what hip-hop is continually becoming.
